Website owners feel pressured to be publishing content regularly and they don\u2019t always have the resources necessary in order to do it well. There\u2019s a lot of content out there, but since only a fraction of it is any good, it means that you\u2019ll still be able to use content to your SEO advantage as long as you\u2019re handling it properly. The first \u201cmust\u201d is obviously to write about relevant topics that are interesting to your target audience and since this is an SEO blog, yes, it\u2019s important to incorporate keywords as it makes sense. However, there are a few somewhat easy things that can be done to content that will help elevate it to the next level:<\/p>\n<h3>Proofread<\/h3>\n<p>Seems obvious that content that\u2019s going to be posted publicly, especially on behalf of a company, should be error-free. But we come across content that has errors nearly every day, sometimes on the websites of major corporations or news outlets. In the \u201calways on\u201d nature of the web, it seems as if many are taking on the opinion that it\u2019s better to be quick than to be correct, and we\u2019d argue against that approach. A spelling or grammar error in an article, blog post, etc. is at best, distracting, and at worst, unprofessional. Sometimes writers get \u201ctoo close\u201d to their own work. They know what they think they wrote and that becomes all they see. This is why it\u2019s always best to get a second and even a third set of eyes on any content that is going to be published.<\/p>\n<h3>Add visuals<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-15492\" src=\"https:\/\/eqo6k4wde6o.exactdn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/video-content-150x150.jpg?strip=all\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eqo6k4wde6o.exactdn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/video-content-150x150.jpg?strip=all 150w, https:\/\/eqo6k4wde6o.exactdn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/video-content-100x100.jpg?strip=all 100w, https:\/\/eqo6k4wde6o.exactdn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/video-content-45x45.jpg?strip=all 45w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><br \/>\nYes, the search spiders are crawling text, but take a step outside of that SEO bubble for a minute and think about the actual end users that are reading content. What will enhance this content in their eyes? To some, a long article that\u2019s full of heavy text can be a turn off, no matter how great the content might be. It\u2019s advisable to break it up with visuals or other media such as photos, charts, graphs, infographics, and videos. This makes the content more user-friendly which in turn means that it\u2019s more shareable.<\/p>\n<h3>Add outbound links<\/h3>\n<p>When an author links out to their sources, it instantly makes a piece of content more reputable which is why it\u2019s important to do so whenever statistics or data is used to make a point. Inbound links matter most for SEO but outbound links matter too, outbound linking is still a way to associate your website with a reputable source. When this content is shared in social media, sources can be tagged in order to get their attention. It\u2019s possible that they might decide to share it with their followers, increasing the reach of that content.<\/p>\n<p>In a sea of content, doing these things can help your content stand out from the rest and none of it is really that time consuming.
