Marketing should support a business and help it achieve its goals. Inefficient digital marketing does the opposite. It drains time and budget. The goal for any digital marketing team is to leverage the resources that you have in order to maximize results.<\/p>\n<h3>Have a Clear Strategy to Leverage Efforts<\/h3>\n<p>One thing we have seen is that businesses who don&#8217;t take the extra time to develop a clear strategy for digital marketing are those who waste the most effort. The strategy serves as an anchor point, and without it the marketing team&#8217;s actions edge a bit closer to the ream of &#8220;busy work&#8221; rather than focused attention.<\/p>\n<p>Strategic focus allows the marketing efforts to be aligned with the overall strategic goals of the company, which typically include bringing in more revenue. Well, marketing is essentially responsible for putting the word out there about the business, connecting with the ideal audience, and delivering the audience the information it needs to become paying customers. Without a strategy, this would be next to impossible.<\/p>\n<h3>Prioritize Meaningful Output Over Volume<\/h3>\n<p>With digital marketing efforts, more is not always better. Output needs to be meaningful for it to work. With a strategy to anchor the digital marketing efforts, this means that every potential marketing-related action that is taken needs to be measured against the strategy. If it doesn&#8217;t work in alignment with them, it&#8217;s just wasted effort. It creates volume instead of meaning.<\/p>\n<p>What happens when actions are aligned with strategy? This creates a meaningful output that helps marketing achieve its objectives. When a strategy is aligned with business outcomes, when marketing achieves its objectives, it brings the business closer to meeting its goals.<\/p>\n<h3>Get Help with Digital Marketing<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"192\" data-end=\"488\">Businesses often understaff their marketing teams without realizing it. However, even with a strategy in place and with the best intentions to leverage internal resources, digital marketing can quickly become inefficient when there isn\u2019t the right level of expertise or support in place. This becomes apparent when teams act as if they are stretched pretty then, and the consequence of this is that the results simply won&#8217;t be there.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"490\" data-end=\"729\">In many cases, the cost of trying to manage everything internally ends up being higher than expected. This result in a loss of money and a wasted expenditure of time. It improves results when getting help because it can help refocus priorities, improve and streamline implementation, and make sure that the strategies and actions of digital marketing are truly aligned with the business. This makes everyone in the marketing team so much more efficient.<\/p>\n<p>As you can see, marketing teams need to be efficient to get the best results. Otherwise, the efforts will be a waste.
